New DISC Golf Challenge a success at NISTM

DISCUS-NISTM-DISCGolfChallenge-0016-400x267DISCUS Engineered Products sponsored a new hole at the NISTM annual golf tournament this year in Orlando, Florida — we called it the DISC Golf Challenge. The Challenge took place between holes 9 and 10 during the regular golf tournament. Golfers were invited to take two throws to try to land a disc into the disc catcher. We had a great turn out of over 200 people, and were happy to award 5 winners throughout the day!

Donna Black recently installed her first DISCUS full contact aluminum floating cover, as Field Superintendent, for a project in Southwest Houston for a Major US Pipeline/Terminal company. Donna brought her experience to the project, having worked in the industry since 2009 for companies including: HMT Tank Services, General Engineering Corp, and Tampa Tank. We spoke with Donna about her experience installing the DISCUS cover.

The DISCUS aluminum floating cover and seal are new, but we’re not.

Discus Engineered ProductsDISCUS Engineered Products LLC was launched in January 2011 with a mission to “provide state-of-the-art solutions to enhance environmental controls for above-ground liquid storage tanks and to improve emissions, safety, maintenance and operations.”

Clearly, an audacious aspiration.

In DISCUS’ initial business plan document, we stated that our intention was to “leverage our knowledge, experience and engineering expertise to provide new and demonstrably better products.”
